The second volume of Consequent Duos series 2 features the brilliant guitarist, improviser, composer, educator, presenter and writer Joe Morris, in a duo concert with Vandermark recorded in Chicago on August 13th of 2019. Morris’ impact on Vandermark’s creative path goes back to the mid-1980s, when he heard Joe perform in the Boston with his trio and his group Sweatshop on a regular basis. Those ensembles set a standard for musical exploration and excellence that Ken still seeks to achieve with his own ensembles today.
